Introduction

The Fangxi Reservoir Water Diversion Tunnel is a key component of Linhai City's major livelihood project, the "West-to-East Water Diversion" initiative. The total tunnel length is 10.78 kilometers, including a 240-meter drill-and-blast section and a 10,537-meter TBM excavation section. The geological conditions along the route are complex, primarily consisting of rhyolitic tuff with breccia, crystal fragments, and vitric components. Challenges include extremely hard rock formations and water inflow, with tunnel depths varying significantly—ranging from a minimum of 29.4 meters to a maximum of approximately 800 meters. The tunnel was excavated using a full-face hard rock tunnel boring machine (TBM) manufactured by CRCHI.

TBM Cutterhead Configuration: 17-inch twin disc cutters, 18-inch single disc cutters, Scrapers.

Cooperation Mode

TBM cutter supply under a meter-based contracting model, with on-site technical support provided by Litian Heavy Industry. (Period: October 2023 – June 2025).

Product Performance

Since the start of TBM excavation in October 2023, Litian has provided high-performance TMB disc cutters and professional technical support, effectively overcoming a variety of complex geological challenges. During the excavation, Litian cutting tools assisted the TBM in achieving the outstanding results, with a maximum daily advance of 41.82 meters and a record monthly advance of 719.21 meters, strongly supporting the overall project progress.
